12/10/2009 - Dusty went Winners Dog yesterday for a 4 pt major at the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills show in Long Beach, California. The judge was Mr. Wayne Burton and the entry was supported by the ECSCSC. This win finished Dusty's Championship, so he is now Ch Northworth Vail Of Honour. Thank you to Hillary Wambaugh, who took Dusty to the Long Beach shows and handled him to this win!
11/27/2009 - Today, Sophie earned her Novice Agility Jumpers title in Olympia, WA with 1st place in her Novice B class. Last weekend, in California, Dusty took two BOB's under judges Pat Trotter and Chuck Trotter. He was handled by Hillary Wambaugh. Thanks, Hillary! Dusty now needs just a major to finish his Championship.
On November 14th, I showed in Rally Obedience at the Monroe, WA dog show. Sophie earned her first leg in Excellent B with a 1st place! Lexi earned her first leg in Rally Novice. Not perfect, but this was her very first attempt at any performance venue and we had fun together. Jennifer entered Rally with Halo, Calypso's Hidden Halo, and Chloe, Calypso Can't Catch Me, on Saturday and Sunday. Chloe finished her Rally Advanced title and earned her first leg in Rally Excellent A on Sunday with a 1st place. Halo earned his first two legs in Rally Advanced with a 4th place on Sat and a 1st place on Sun. Congratulations, Jennifer!!
I also received the following news from Cheryl Gallup and Gina: News and new titles! Last weekend my Gina went to the Willamette Valley shows in Salem, OR. She earned her first two obedience legs in Novice there. Then this Friday we showed in Roseburg where she finished her CD with a First place in Novice B. Gina also showed in Rally Advance and earned her RA title with three Second place finishes.
Last, but not least, Joker, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, went WD on October 28th in Canada for 2 pts.
10/26/2009 - On Saturday, Mocha and Dusty were shown in Ridgefield, WA. Mocha was WB/BOS for 1 pt and Dusty was WD/BOW for 1 pt.
The previous weekend, we went to the Northern California English Cocker Specialty show. I showed Jasmine in breed. We had fun, but no results worth mentioning. Neil, however, qualified with Sophie in 4/4 novice agility runs. Sophie placed a respectable 2nd Place in all four of her runs. This was their first agility trial this year and only their second weekend out together as a team. Sophie completed her NA title and needs just one more leg to finish her NAJ title. Their runs were not perfect, but they had a great time!!
The ECSCNC Specialty show was a *ton* of fun, as usual. Thank you to everyone who helped to organize the show. We had a great time and we'll be back next year!
Last, but not least, earlier this month, Jennifer and I took a trip to Idaho with some of our dogs and came home with a few nice wins. On Thursday, the 8th, Dusty went WD for a 3 pt major. On Friday, the 9th, Mocha went WB/BOW/BOB for a 4 pt major. She also made a cut of six in the group. On Saturday, the 10th, Halo went WD for a 3 pt major. He was handled to that win by Jennifer. Congratulations, Jennifer, on your second major win with Halo!
While we were in Idaho, Bonnie Kost took Ch Calypso's Fortunate Series Of Events, Jack, to Canada, where he went WD to finish his Canadian Championship. Jack was owner handled by Bonnie to this win. Congratulations, Bonnie and Jack!!

09/15/2009 - Over the last month two Calypso dogs have earned new titles. Lovey, Calypso Cause I Can, owned by Terry Jent, finished her AKC Championship and is now Ch Calypso Cause I Can. Gina, Calypso's Golden Attraction, finished her UKC Championship and also passed her Canine Good Citizen test. She is now UKC Ch Calypso's Golden Attraction RN CGC. Gina is co-owned, trained, and owner handled by Cheryl Gallup.
Some relatives of our dogs have also done well in the ring over the last month. Quinlan's Burnt Sienna OA AXJ NF RN, finished her AXJ (Agility Excellent Jumpers) title and earned the first leg towards her AX (Agility Excellent Standard) title. Sienna is sired by Am/Can Ch Nohea Orion RN OA OAJ JH WD, Ryan. Gem, Agate's Diamond Studded Affair, sired by Jack, Ch Calypso's Fortunate Series Of Events, passed his Canine Good Citizen test and Gem's litter sister, Zazzy, went RWB when shown at the Eugene Kennel Club Show in Oregon. Not bad for puppies in the 6-9 mth class!!
08/19/2009 - Sophie, Am/Can/UKC Ch Calypso Audacity Strikes CD Am/Can RN WD, earned her Rally Advanced title this last weekend. She was entered Friday at the Cascade Specialty show, where she earned a perfect score of 100 and she was entered on Sunday at the OKC All Breed show, where she earned a 97 and completed her title. I also entered Jasmine, Calypso's Hooligan, in Rally Novice B on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, her first time in the rally ring, she earned a perfect 100, on Saturday, a 90. I completely messed up a station, which lost us 10 points, but Jasmine was perfect (-: On Sunday, Jasmine qualified with a 100, which finished her Rally Novice title. She also earned 1st place in her class of around 20 dogs. I had soooo much fun showing in rally with them. I feel so blessed to have these two girls. They have wonderful enthusiasm for training in any venue and I am always proud to be holding the other end of their leads.

Jennifer entered Halo in Rally Novice B on Friday at the Cascade Specialty and Sunday at the OKC All Breed show. Halo qualified on Friday with a score of 100 and on Sunday with a score of 97 and a 3rd place. This completed Halo's Rally Novice title.
In conformation, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, Joker, was BOS in Puppy Sweepstakes at the Cascade Specialty show.
In Junior Showmanship, Tatum was 1st in her class with Ch Calypso Eveready Mischief, Finn, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tatum did a fabulous job with Finn. There are photos of this cute team on Finn's page.
And some older news - Legend, Calypso's The Black Pearl, completed her Championship the weekend before last. She is the second of Sophie's kids to finish this year. Congratulations to her owners, Tina, Jim and Kayla Heinz.

08/04/2009 - More show news to share. The day after I posted my show news on the 24th of July, Calypso's The Black Pearl, Legend, was WB for a 3 pt major in Greenville, SC. This was her 3rd major win and she now needs just 1 point to finish her Championship. Calypso Cause I Can, Lovey, went to four days of shows last Thursday through Sunday in Canfield, OH. She was reserve to majors on Thursday and Saturday and was WB/BOS for a 3pt major on Sunday. Lovey now needs just a major to finish her Championship. Here in WA, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, Joker, went to the shows in Sequim, where he was WD on Saturday for 1 point and WD/BOW for 1 pt on Sunday. Joker now has 11 points including 1 major and he just turned a year old at the end of July!!!
07/24/2009 - Getting caught up on dog show news - Last Saturday, Cammie was WB/BOS for a 3 pt major in Texas. She was RWB to the major the following day. She now has 14 points and just needs a major to finish her Championship. Way to go, Cammie! That same Saturday, in Portland, Oregon, Calypso's Golden Attraction, Gina, was RWB and Northworth Vail of Honour, Dusty, was RWD. Jennifer competed in Rally with Halo and Chloe and did absolutely awesome. Halo scored a 98/100 and was 1st place in his Novice B class of over 30!! This was his first time in the rally ring. Chloe scored a perfect 100 in Advanced A and was 1st place in her class of about 20. Congratulations to Jennifer, Chloe, and Halo. It was so much fun to watch! I posted videos below, for anyone who would like to watch.
TToday, in Greenville, South Carolina, Calypso's The Black Pearl, Legend, owned by Kayla Heinz, was RWB to a 4 pt major under breeder/judge Ginny Lyne. So close!!!
07/17/2009 - Cammie continued winning and was WB/BOS on Friday for 2 pts, WB/BOS on Saturday for 2 pts and WB/BOS on Sunday for 1 pts. Congratulations to her owners, Debbie Owczarzac and Mike Alper.
Neil and I went to a show in Shelton, WA last weekend. On Saturday, Joker, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, was WD/BOW for 2 pts and Chloe, Calypso Can't Catch Me RN, was RWB. On Sunday, Mocha, Terigen Larkspur Chocolatte, was WB/BOW/BOS for 2 points and Chloe was second (out of 5) to Mocha in the Open Bitch class. Congratulations to Joker's owner, Nancy Clark, for his 2 point win.
Last, but not least, at the Shelton show, Gina, Calypso's Golden Attraction, qualified in Rally Novice on Saturday which completed her Rally Novice title. Way to go, Cheryl and Gina. We are very proud of the two of you!!!
07/09/2009 - Last weekend, in Bandon, OR, Calypso's Golden Attraction, Gina, was WB/BOW on Saturday for 1 pt and WB/BOS on Sunday for 1 pt. She was handled by her owner, Cheryl Gallup. Way to go, Cheryl and Gina!! Yesterday, Cammie, Calypso Golden Gait Grandeur, was at a show in San Antonio, Texas and was WB/BOS for 1 pt. Today, Cammie was WB/BOS again for 2 pts. Congratulations to her owners, Mike Alper and Debbie Owczarzak. Cammie is Gina's littersister from our G Litter. I have also had news that Calypso Cause I Can, Lovey, has earned 3 more points towards her CH and now has a total of 8 pts. Congrats to her owner, Terry Jent.
Last, but not least, at the English Cocker Spaniel Club Of Southern California specialty show last Thursday, Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, was BOS in Puppy Sweepstakes and was also Best In Match at the ECSCSC match that was held that evening.
06/30/2009 - Lots of news to share from this past weekend of dog shows. In Colorado, Dusty, Northworth Vail Of Honour, was RWD at the English Cocker Spaniel Fanciers Of Greater Denver Specialty Show. Dusty was also Best Puppy at the supported entry show on Saturday and went on to win Best Puppy in Sporting Group. Mocha, Terigen Larkspur Chocolatte, was also at the Specialty and won her Open Particolor class.
At the Lost Coast Kennel Club show in Northern California, Gina, Calypso's Golden Attraction, handled by her owner, Cheryl Gallup, was BOB on Saturday and BOB again on Sunday. Gina also earned the first two legs towards her Rally Novice title and a 2nd place in Rally Novice B on Saturday. Way to go, Cheryl and Gina!!
06/23/2009 - Last weekend, in Canby, Oregon, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, Joker, was WD on Saturday for 1 pt and WD/BOS on Sunday for 1 pt. Congratulations to Joker's owner, Nancy Clark.

06/08/2009 - Yesterday, at a dog show in Puyallup, WA, Joker, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, was WD for a 3 pt major win from the 9-12 mth class. In North Carolina, at the Asheville Kennel Club show, Calypso's The Black Pearl, Legend, was WB/BOW/BOB for a 3 pt major. Congratulations to Kayla Heinz, Legend's owner, and to Nancy Clark, Joker's owner.
06/06/2009 - Neil and I went to the dog show today in Puyallup, WA. Neil showed Mocha in breed and she went RWB. I showed Sophie in Rally Advanced B. Sophie got a perfect score of 100 and 1st place. I was sooo proud of her. The judge could not believe it was her first advanced leg. She was so perfect! Jennifer Vadecar showed Chloe in Rally Advanced A. She scored a 96 and was 2nd in her class. Chloe hit the high jump on her way over, otherwise she would have had 1st place as well. Her heel work was great! Also, Hillary Wambaugh took Dusty to an ECSCNC supported entry show in Vallejo, CA and he was RWD to a major from the 9-12 mth puppy class.
06/04/2009 - Ch Calypso's Fortunate Series Of Events "Jack" sired a lovely litter of puppies which were born yesterday. The breakdown: 1 blue roan girl, 1 blue roan boy, 1 orange roan girl, 1 orange roan boy and 1 black girl. The dam of the litter is Can. 06/02/2009 - I took Mocha, Terigen Larkspur Chocolatte, and Joker, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, to the shows in Yakima last weekend. Joker was WD/BOW on both Saturday and Sunday for 1 point each day. Mocha was WB/BOS on Sunday for 1 point.

05/27/2009 - Some news to share. On May 3rd at the Rio Hondo Kennel Club show, Ch Calypso's Hollywood Drama was BOB under judge Thomas J. Tracy. On May 16th, Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, was WD/BOW for 1 pt under judge Kathryn Cowsert. This makes 5 points for Dusty. Ch Calypso Eveready Mischief, Finn, was BOB on May 24th at the Spokane Kennel Club dog show and BOB again on May 25th at the Coeur d'Alene Dog Fanciers show in Idaho. Finn was handled to these wins by his junior handler, Tatum. I also talked to the owner of Ch Calypso's Hollywood Drama, Howard, and heard that he won two Best Of Breeds and a 3rd in the Sporting Group this last weekend in Pomona, Ca. Congratulations to all!
05/14/2009 - Last Saturday, Calypso's Just A Parti Girl, Confetti, was WB/BOW/BOS for 1 point. She was handled by her owner, Hillary Wambaugh. Not to be outdone, on Sunday, Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, went to a puppy match with Hillary and was Best In Match!!!
05/06/2009 - I just got home from a fabulous trip to the ECSCA National Specialty held in Huron, OH. Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, was 3rd in his puppy sweepstakes class and 3rd in his regular class of 18 puppies. Neil took Calypso's Hooligan, Jasmine, to the all breed show in Elma, WA on Sunday and she was WB/BOW/BOB for 1 point under judge Bud DiDonato. Also, I have news that Calypso's Hollywood Drama, Howard, was WD/BOW for a 3 point major at the Lake Mathew's Kennel Club show in Chino, CA on April 25th under judge Wayne E. Bousek. This finished Howard's Championship, so he is now CH Calypso's Hollywood Drama. Howard is owned by Melinda McKinley.

04/21/2009 - Taffy, Calypso's Element Of Attraction, has Hips OFA Good, Elbows OFA Normal and Patellas OFA Normal. Yeah! She needs just two points to finish her Championship and will be bred to our Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, later this year.
04/12/2009 - Today, Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, was WD/BOW for 2 points at the Sacramento Kennel Club show under judge Mrs. Mereth K. Kipp. He was shown by Hillary Wambaugh. Thanks, Hillary!! At the Ephrata-Moses Lake Kennel Club show, Calypso Inspiration Strikes, Ivy, was WB for 1 point. She was owner/handled by Bonnie Kost. Also at this show, CH Calypso Eveready Mischief, Finn, was BOB handled by his eight year old owner, Tatum. See below for photos of Tatum with Finn in the group ring. She will be showing with Finn in Junior Showmanship later this summer.

03/30/2009 - Here is a photo of Jack Jr, owned by Yvonne Boyd and family. Jack is from the J Litter. He recently passed his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test. Way to go, Jack!!!

03/15/2009 - On Saturday, March 7th, Calypso's Hollywood Drama, Howard, was WD/BOW at the Apple Valley Kennel Club show in Victorville, California. The judge was Vicki L. Abbott. This was a 3 point win for Howard. He now needs just one major to finish his Championship. Congratulations to his owner, Melinda McKinley. On the same day, at the Seattle Kennel Club show, Quinlan's Walk By Faithe, a daughter of our Am/Can CH Nohea Orion RN OA OAJ JH WD, went WB/BOW for a 3 point major under judge Honey Glendinning. Congratulations to Faithe's owner and breeder, Michelle Huckins.
03/02/2009 - I have a lot of recent show wins to share about. On Friday, Northworth Vail Of Honour, Dusty, was WD/BOW for 2 points under judge Judy Webb at the Sequoia Kennel Club show in Hanford, CA. This was his first time in the show ring, so we were very proud of him. He was handled by Hillary Wambagh. Thanks Hillary!!
Also on Friday, at a show in Surrey, British Columbia (Canada), Jack, Ch Calypso's Fortunate Series Of Events, was WD for 2 points and Ivy, Calypso Inspiration Strikes, was RWB. Jack and Ivy are both co-owned by Bonnie Kost and Bonnie handled Ivy to her win. On Saturday in Canada, Calypso's Knight Of Seasac, Joker, was WD/BOW for 4 points. Joker is owned by Nancy Clark. On Saturday afternoon we also showed in the BC Cocker Spaniel Specialty Show, where Mocha, Terigen Larkspur Chocolatte, was WB/BOW for 4 points and Joker was WD and Best Puppy for 2 pts. On Sunday in Canada, Mocha was WB/BOW for another 3 points and Jack was WD for 2 points. We had a lot of fun and our dogs had a good time!

02/15/2009 - Today, at a show in Albany, Oregon, Taffy went WB/BOS for 1 pt. Also, at the Annual Awards Banquet for the Cascade English Cocker Spaniel Fanciers Club, our dogs won the following based on their performance in 2008-
CH Lagromi Play It Again was awarded the Cascade Stud Dog Trophy for the member-owned dog whose get accumulate the greatest number of titles during the calendar year.
Am/Can CH Eden Hills Attraction RN tied for the Ch Paganhill Flower Child UDT Memorial Encouragement Trophy for the member-owned bitch whose produce accumulate the greatest number of titles during the calendar year.
Calypso Can't Catch Me RN CGC, owned by Jennifer Vandecar, was awarded the Am/Can/Int Ch Eclipse Sunstone Serenade CD CGC memorial rally trophy for the member owned ECS who accumulates the highest overall average score in AKC Rally Trials with a minimum of 3 scores required. Chloe won this with an average score of 95.
Also, Quinlan's Burnt Sienna RN OA OAJ NF, sired by our Am/Can CH Nohea Orion RN OA OAJ JH, was awarded the Versatility Trophy, which is presented to the member owned dog who earns the most titles in more than one area. Sienna is owned by Deb St Myers and earned three titles in two different areas.
02/02/2009 - Confetti, Calypso's Just A Parti Girl, went WB/BOS on Saturday for 1 point under judge Elaine Mathis. Way to go, Hillary and Confetti. They have been in the show ring four times and have been WB 3 times, BOB once, and BOS twice. Not too bad for a six month old puppy!
I also want to share the news that we have a new addition to our household. Dusty, Northworth Vail Of Honour, arrived about a week ago from Kennel Northworth in Finland. Thank you to Nina Kauhanen for sending this handsome guy to the USA. Dusty is a 1/2 brother to our Lexi and we are very pleased with him.

02/01/2009 - I received news that Howard, Calypso's Hollywood Drama, from the H Litter, has had some show wins recently. He went WD/BOW/BOB under judge Bud Didonato at the Kennel Club Of Palm Springs show on 01/03 for 1 pt and WD/BOW the following day under judge Michael J. Dachelon for another point. He also went WD/BOW at the Orange Empire Dog Club show on 1/25 under judge Dr. Bernard Mcgivern Jr for 2 more points. I believe this makes a total of 8 points for Howard.
01/26/2009 - Confetti, Calypso's Just A Parti Girl, from our J Litter, went to her first shows this last weekend. She was shown by her co-owner/handler, Hillary Wambaugh. On Saturday she went WB/BOW and then Best Of Breed over a special for her first point under judge Pat Trotter. On Sunday she was WB/BOW/BOS for her second point and also went Group 3rd in the Puppy Group under judge Jeffrey G Pepper. Congratulations to Hillary and Confetti for these super wins your first weekend out. I am sure the future will be bright for our little parti girl.
Hillary had this to say about Confetti - "I adore her so much, she is a wonderful little puppy and never put a foot wrong. I am so excited for what the future holds for her."

01/12/2009 - We went to the shows in Puyallup last weekend. They are about 20 minutes from us, so it makes for a nice, relaxed show weekend. On Saturday, Neil qualified in Rally Novice with Marcus and finished Marcus' Rally Novice title. Marcus is now Am/Can Ch Calypso's Element Of Surprise RN. In the breed ring, Mocha went WB for a 3 point major. Her very first points! WD/BOW on Saturday was a black dog, Quinlan The Legend Lives On, Mith, who is sired by our solid liver boy, Ryan, Am/Can CH Nohea Orion RN OA OAJ JH WD. Congratulations to Mith and his owner, Debbie Mendehall. That makes 9 points and both majors for Mith.
01/06/2009 - Hard to believe it is already 2009!! There has not been much going on here... other than the usual of course; grooming, dog laundry, training, etc. I am working on getting a newsletter out this month, so my current puppy owners should watch for that to arrive in the mail before too long.
